“Angel Eyes” or, as I like to call them to annoy my friend Charlotte, “Bloody Cookies”.
So, it is that time of the year and my German flatmate decided to bake some traditional German cookies. Listening to traditional German Christmas songs.
Here is the recipe (this is indeed becoming a baking blog).
1 pinch of salt
200g cold butter
Jam of your choice
1. Mix all the ingredients, except the jam, and leave the dough in the fridge until it’s not sticky anymore.
2. Make small balls out of the dough and place them on a prepared baking tray. Use your thumb to make a small indentation in the middle of each ball and fill the hole with jam.
3. Bake the cookies at 150ºC for about 20 minutes (keep looking, though. If you let them cook a bit too long the jam will spill and they will look just like the bloody cookies in the picture).
